Beware of Globelines broadband
If you are looking for a fast, cheap internet connection, spare yourself and do not get the globelines broadband. I am a writer for a non-profit organization, and we have tried several internet providers, I'd say this is the worst internet provider that we had. Very slow internet connection, the landline that comes with the package at often times do not have a dial tone, and after the "Typhoon Frank", our modem was hit by lightning. After reporting it to the customer service hotline 7 times, up to now it has been 1 1/2 months and globelines still failed to act on our lack of internet connection. We are trying to immediately end our contract with them.
We moved office early this year, our previous internet provider was smartbro. we were satisfied with its services but we decided not to renew our contract with them. We tried globelines since they offer landline and internet service in one package, which fits with our aim to cut costs. Unfortunately, we did not get the quality services that we need. Instead of cutting costs, we are paying for an internet connection when we don't even have one for more than a month, and our staff have been renting in internet computer shops outside the office just to have access. even at the early months of subscription to globelines, we have noticed the very slow internet connection and we always have trouble with the dial tone of our landline.
So guys, be warned. Don't get globelines!

baka kasi smart ang cellphone nyo hahahaha. ganyan din dati ang smartbro at bayantel, ngayon medyo ok na sila, pero hindi ako sigurado kung magiging ok ang globe

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 07/14/2008 - 17:07.globelines talagang palpak website nila di maview,sana naman sa dinami dami ng unsatisfied customers nyo matuto na kayo.isa ako sa mga biktima nila,one day palang disconnected kagad,wow ang galing,sarap ihagis ang telepono at modem nila.mura palpak naman,ganun din.tawag customer service punta technician kuno wala naman nagawa disconnected pa rin,mas maigi pa ang smartbro kahit 384kbps once in a bluemoon magkaproblema...its ur own choice at subukan nyo rin para malaman ang katotohanan,di ko kayo tatantanan....

NAG telebabad ako nun dumating na ang bill wow. ang laki umabut ng 6000+. un telephone at ung modem ay inagis ko sa labas ang savi ko nga sa globe ------. ung speed nila sa connection ay mabagal. buti pa nga ang smartbro faster ang connection nila.. ung nga modem nila at telephono nila kumuha ako ng gas at ligther. sinunug ko. kaya ng smartbro kami... faster ang connection nila..
magin wais tayo at matalino mag SMART tayo. ung nga mga kapitbahay ko ang savi mag smartbro nalang kau. edi nag smartbro din sila ang savi ko ksai pangit ang globe..

Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 10/24/2009 - 17:53.i was a owner of computer shop... i usually use smartbro then one time this walkin vendor offer me globe 1mbps, tapos no down payment pay ka lang after one month. db ok so i fill up the form.then ang bilis kinabukasan kabit agad... then baket ganun d nya kaya 2 computers tapos lagi nawawalan signal. tapos call ko sabi RESTORATION daw lagi n lang ganun... tapos search ako net dami pala nagrereklamo sa service nila kainis sana nag search muna ako bago ako pumatol, now im in 4 months mejo napupntahan na ng technician pero wala nmn changes, sabi ko sa operator baka nmn pwede kahit d n tapusin ang contract kase nang hihinayang ako sa binabayad ko... sabi icheck daw muna if magagawa if not saka ko paputol... huhuhuh kaya ako sa inyo wag na kayo mag avail ng globe broadband.

Siguro kailangan lang talaga ipaabot (nang maayos, matiwasay, at malumanay) ang problema para masolusyunan nila. Hindi ako taga-globe.

PERO nun dumating na ang bill namin ay ang laki umabut ng 3,000. Kaya nag smartbro nalang kami.. ka pangit sa globe mas maganda pa ang smartbro.. kaya guyz mag smartbro nalang kayo ahaha.. mas mabilis pa ang speed ng smart kay sa globe... ka pangit talaga ng globe...
maging matalino at wais mag smartbro kayo...

Submitted by Anonymous on Sun, 03/22/2009 - 17:11.i just recently switched from SmartBro to Globelines' Broadband + phone bundle at php 995 for 384mbps of connection speed. it brings out a good deal because you get to pay php995 for both internet connection and a landline. deceived by the fact that i can save about php 500 or so, i terminated my smartbro account and switched over to globelines.
it took about a week before they had it installed in our house, which is quite unacceptable because it should be just within 2 days, as promised. i and my siblings are so eager to use the internet for browsing and online gaming but we were never aware of what's going to happen once we click on Firefox or open Perfect World. the connection was very overwhelming!!! it drops in no time! my brother had to log off and on to this online game numerous times. cant do any boss hunts, finish quests or even park in one town and chat with friends. my sister on the other hand, had to refresh the webpage to get back online, and this happens to Safari, IE and Firefox! cant finish uploading pictures to Facebook and cant finish downloading videos or music!
i, on the other hand, had to do continuous "pinging" only to find out that there are more packets lost than received! had to constantly power cycle the network, tried to turn off my firewall thinking its affecting my connection. had to boot to safe mode with networking to check if this is a software-related issue but its not! hello? we just reinstalled the OS, upgraded the video card and RAM and installed a registry booster.
we were enjoying our connection with smartbro. although it is wireless, prone to signal interference, we dont get this problem on a day-to-day basis. we only get problems with smartbro when there are strong winds or we have a delay in paying the bills, but other than that, each day seemed to be so smooth.
working or playing online using globelines' connection is just so intimidating. my brother chose to play now at cafes, paying p15 an hour, which he could have saved to purchase a top-up card for his game. i, on the other hand, had to stay up during the wee hours of the morning to use the internet since it seldom has interruptions but eventually still disconnects in a matter of 5-10 minutes.
tried calling globelines' tech support line but only to get troubleshooting steps which i basically performed before i called them. although their phone support is polite, they seem to have lesser background on supporting customers with problems on the internet. i guess they are only called customer service reps, not technical service reps.
so overall, i still would want my smartbro, bahala na kung walang landline, rather than staying with globelines and deal with this intermittent connection everyday...

After they installed the kit in our house, I was glad kasi makakapg laro nanaman ako ng pangya. Un nga nakapaglaro nga ako. Pero after a day of happiness e2 ang nangyari, biglang di na ako maka stay sa game, after a minute or two, bigla akong ma didisconnect. The frustration didn't end there, pati ang pag download, upload and pag browse sa internet super kupad na! I send a ticket to their support and after a day those "technicians" came by and tried to fix the antenna. Pero ganun parin. ampf! inis na inis na ako. Siguro I'd feel more easy kung di ko na experience ung bilis ng connection dito sa place namin nung first day. Nakaka frustrate kasi alam ko na mabilis dapat ang connection ko!! tapos biglang bagal! dapat talaga dito imbstigahan mga magnanakaw kayo, I texted one of the contractor/technician and asked him if I can still cut my subscription to this crappy connection and he said 'kayo po bahala pero babayad po ng termination fee tsaka lockin fee! WTF!! this is really ridiculous does this mean I'm going to suffer for a year!?? OMG GLOBE! GO TO HELL YOU FREAKIN BITCHES!!

Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 06/17/2009 - 16:16.Globe DSL has a built in auto disconnect every hour which disrupts your browsing and surfing, and disconnects your yahoo and downloads. Seems they should eliminate this as many blogs complain about the constant disconnects for Globe DSL!
You have to sign into your yahoo again, reload your downloads, and refresh your websites. Its a real pain. They have have some very slow speeds at times here in Cebu as well and sometimes no connection for hours or a day.
And I am on the 1mbps plan but it never goes above 700 kbps such a rip off and false advertising. And with new leader Chu it was all supposed to change?
