Horrible service at Mayer

FE-290

A couple of months ago, I went looking for a digital camera. I heard through the grapevine that cheap cameras are available at Hidalgo street in Quaipo so I went there. After a few minutes of roaming around I saw a couple of shops selling digital cameras. I started asking for prices and other specs from the different stores. All was fine until I went to this Mayer store.

I went in and started asking around like what I did the past few stores. I asked for prices of those cams on display including their specs. I didn't know then that the person I was asking was the owner of the shop.

After a few questions, I was shocked with how this person rudely answered my question. I asked him what are the other models available and you what answer he gave me? He said "Ganito ang gawin mo, pumunta ka muna sa internet, mag check ka duon ng model, tapos pag nakapili ka na, bumalik ka dito."

I wanted to get angry at that moment but luckily a cooler head prevailed. So i just went to another store and eventually got me a new camera. A new camera for me and no profit for Mayer. All is well that ends well I guess.

baka kasi naka shorts at

My point is I'm a customer and it may sound cliche, but we are always right. Look what happened, I bought a camera but not with Mayer.

sa Hidalgo sa taong hindi

sa Hidalgo sa taong hindi alam ang bibilhin. Hidalgo as a Photographers' "Haven" usually deal with people who know what they are looking for. Usually photographers go there to look for something they know about to the last detail. It's not a place to ask for specs.

What I usually do, I ask sa malls if I want to know about specs... or the internet for that matter as sales assistants strike me as people who just want to sell. They don't usually know all the technical stuff and all the pros and cons of the gadget they are selling.

Although I feel for you, don't expect too much from Quiapo stores.

I might agree with you that

I might agree with you that Hidalgo is a "haven" for photographers, but that is not an excuse to be rude to customers. As I have posted above, it was only this Mayer store which was like that, all the rest were accommodating at the very least.

The camera model is FE-290.

The camera model is FE-290. I got it for P 9,000. It was the cheapest camera with lithium ion battery.

Mayer

Since my first film SLR camera, I've been going to Hidalgo. Close to two decades na yata. I've even made friends among the camera technicians there who now give me discounted service and even free equipment sometimes.

I first came to know of Mayer from my colleagues in Kodao kasi doon kami bumibili ng mga gamit. For low prices, yes, Mayer is the shop to go to.

In my first ever transaction with Ramon, Mayer's owner, nabastusan na nga ako sa taong ito. He was arrogant. Still is.

Thing is, he does offer the lowest prices for photo and video equipment.

In my years of buying things from Mayer's, some were defective. But it wasn't difficult to have them change the unit.

I've heard that Mayer's items were "creatively imported." Hindi naman ako sure rito. But after checking the internet, one wonders how could they sell so low compared with the other stores, lalo na sa mga malls.

Yes, bastos si Ramon. At he probably thinks he could be bastos because he offers the lowest prices.

If Mayer wasn't rude then

If Mayer wasn't rude then true the story would have ended, but since it was the other way around, that is when the story started. And bukaneg, selling things cheap is not an excuse for being rude.
