If you are looking for a fast, cheap internet connection, spare yourself and do not get the globelines broadband. I am a writer for a non-profit organization, and we have tried several internet providers, I'd say this is the worst internet provider that we had. Very slow internet connection, the landline that comes with the package at often times do not have a dial tone, and after the "Typhoon Frank", our modem was hit by lightning. After reporting it to the customer service hotline 7 times, up to now it has been 1 1/2 months and globelines still failed to act on our lack of internet connection. We are trying to immediately end our contract with them.

Tsk tsk.

MANILA, Philippines -- To celebrate Independence Day on June 12, the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) will be offering free rides, public information officer Lysa Blancaflor said on Wednesday.
A couple of months ago, I went looking for a digital camera. I heard through the grapevine that cheap cameras are available at Hidalgo street in Quiapo so I went there. After a few minutes of roaming around I saw a couple of shops selling digital cameras. I started asking for prices and other specs from the different stores. All was fine until I went to this Mayer store.

Last June 11, 2008, the Bureau of Food and Drugs released a warning to all regarding the use of Varenicline. Varenicline is a drug prescribed to help patients quit smoking.
The decision came after the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) issued a similar warning last May 16, 2008.
We've attached here the BFAD advisory.
Telephone companies have reduced the cost of sending text messages between networks from the previous 1 peso per text to just 50 centavos per text.
The reduced text message rates will be available starting July 28, 2008 to October 22, 2008. According to Smart Communications, this is one of their promos.
Reminder to all our kababayan who use the taxi: starting July 25, 2008, taxi fare will be increased by P10.
According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) only taxi's with the correct sticker will be allowed to charge the additional fare, but they can only do so on July 25, 2008.
Taxi's will not be allowed to charge the extra P10 before July 25, even if the taxi already has the sticker on the windshield. This is to clear the air regarding the early release of the stickers. The LTFRB made early releases to the stickers to avoid a bottleneck on taxi drivers and operators cramming to get stickers as July 25, 2008 approaches.
So again, come July 25, 2008 only taxi's with the correct sticker will be allowed to charge the extra fare.
To all those people who are using public transport like jeepneys, buses and taxis, don't be surprised that by Thursday, July 10, 2008 or Friday, July 11, 2008, there will be a higher minimum fare.
This is because the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) has approved the proposal of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for a fare increase brought about by continued oil price increase.
Here is the breakdown of the fare increase according to www.inquirer.net:
• jeepneys nationwide would now be charging P8.50 from P7.50 for the first four kilometers plus P0.25 for the succeeding kilometers;

From the bakitsira.net team, we would like to extend our condolences to the families of the victims of the MV Princess of the Stars sea tragedy. We hope and pray that there will more survivors from the shipwreck.
The tragedy cannot solely be blamed on Typhoon Frank and for the disaster to have a closure, there must be a thorough investigation on who is really to blame.
